Credential Application Processing
The Monterey County Credential Services Team assists in processing applications for the following types of credentials, permits or certificates:
- Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permits
- Multiple Subject (out-of-state, out-of-country trained)
- Single Subject (out-of-state, out-of-country trained)
- Subject Matter Authorizations (for Multiple/Single Subject Credentials)
- Supplementary Authorizations (for Multiple/Single Subject Credentials)
- CLAD/BCLAD Certificates
- Education Specialist (special education) (out-of-state, out-of-country trained)
- Services credentials (administrative, speech therapy, school counseling, school psychology, school nurse)
- Child Development Permits (preschool)
- Adult Education
- Career Technical Education (vocational education)
Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) and Salinas Adult School are the Local Education Agencies (LEA) that serve Monterey County. Both agencies have available staff to assist individuals interested in obtaining a preliminary credential or to clear an Adult Education or Career Technical Education Designated Subjects Credential.
