District Advisory Services

District Advisory Services provides a wide array of support to school districts and other educational entities in Monterey County. Working in partnership with MCOE, school districts, community colleges, joint power agencies, and the community, we assure the fiscal accountability and stewardship of the public's education dollars. The division serves in an advisory capacity to assist and support clients with general school business and financial operations. 

District Advisory Services provides the following services:

• Calculates revenue limit estimates
• Provides financial management and support to small district-service school districts
• Attendance accounting support
• Review district audit reports
• Review district budgets and interim reports for compliance with state criteria and standards, as well as fiscal solvency
• Provides training and assistance in school finance and related areas
• Coordinates and reviews state mandated reports
